Five fishermen from Rameswaram returned to India with tonsured heads after being jailed in Sri Lanka for poaching. Their treatment sparked protests and condemnation from the CPM. Detained on August 26, they were released after paying fines but were treated as convict prisoners until then. A protest is planned in Rameswaram.
