In Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh, more than 30,000 villagers from 20 villages worked for 10 months to restore the Sakarni river’s natural course. Led by activist Ajay Krantikari and backed by district authorities under MGNREGS, this initiative not only revived the river but also provided employment and improved local livelihoods.
