India and the Maldives held talks to accelerate ongoing defence cooperation projects during their 5th defence cooperation dialogue. Led by Indian defence secretary Giridhar Aramane and Maldives’ General Ibrahim Hilmy, discussions included military exchanges and capability development. This follows S Jaishankar’s visit to Male amid strained ties due to Maldives’ pro-China policies.
