Police reported that nine Naxals were killed in a forest encounter with security personnel on the Dantewada-Bijapur border in Chhattisgarh. Automatic weapons were recovered. The encounter between the police forces and the Naxals began following a joint police team’s search operation based on information about the presence of Maoists from the West Bastar Division in the border area of Dantewada and Bijapur districts.
