Ahead of the festive season, auto manufacturers from various sectors agreed to provide a 1.5-3.5% discount to buyers scrapping old vehicles. The initiative aims to encourage vehicle scrapping and includes discounts up to Rs 25,000. The government and the auto industry are expected to announce these measures on Tuesday to promote eco-friendly practices.
