West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced protests demanding capital punishment for the accused in the Kolkata medical college rape-murder case. Demonstrations will take place across various blocks from August 17 to 19. Banerjee earlier welcomed the Calcutta High Court’s decision for a CBI probe and criticized opposition parties for politicizing the incident.
